Where do I download Zotero?
You can download Zotero on the Zotero download page. Be sure to also install a Zotero Connector for your browser.
How do I install Zotero?
Mac
Open the .dmg you downloaded and drag Zotero to the Applications folder. You can then run Zotero from Spotlight, Launchpad, or the Applications folder and add it to your Dock like any other program.
After installing Zotero, you can eject and delete the .dmg file.

Download the tarball, extract the contents and run zotero
from that directory to start Zotero.
'There should be a file called 'install.esd' in Sources sub folder. It could be used to make an ISO to keep as backup to make a bootable USB/DVD so you can do clean install of W10 or use as repair disk. The DMG one can go since you don’t need it anymore. First, eject the DMG by right-clicking it and selecting the “Eject” command, or by pressing the eject button next to the disk in finder. This unmounts the DMG file from your system. Next, delete the DMG file itself unless you have a reason for keeping it around. These files might have names such as McAfee-MacInstaller-3.3-7.dmg or similar. Older copies of the installer.dmg can result in your Mac using the wrong installer. The wrong installer might prevent your product from successfully activating. If you find any older McAfee.dmg files: Delete them - so that they can no longer be used,. Open 'GoogleEarthProMac-Intel.dmg '. Open the 'Install Google Earth Pro.pkg' file and follow the installation process. To open Google Earth Pro, open your Applications folder and double-click Google Earth Pro. ). Zotero should then appear either in your launcher or in the applications list when click the grid icon (“Show Applications”), from which you can drag it to the launcher.

How do I upgrade to a new version?
Zotero should update itself automatically by default, or you can go to the Help menu and select “Check for Updates…” to check for updates manually. You can also always manually install a new version of Zotero over your existing version without losing any data.
